Bonus Points Distribution

In another uneventful round, bb21 pulled off a magnificent performance, notching up an amazing 52 points from 20 games, with 6 exact-scoreline predictions, five of which being 1-all draws, and seven 3-point entries. This helped him storm back up both tables in the only movements this weekend. newbie babs also performed strongly scoring over 2 points per game.

In a rare event, Greenback and MattE2010 both made exact predictions for aggregate away goals, and both scored the maximum 11 bonus points. valenta and Ivo were joint third being two away scoring one point each, just edging out SS4.

In a repeat of the last round, bb21 edged out valenta by a very slim margin of 300 to take home 6 points in the attendance category. Ivo, yet again, managed to scrape one bonus point.

Bonus Points Distribution

One thing this game does not lack is drama. Only five entries were received this Tuesday, and with both valenta and bb21 failing to enter, Ivo took maximum advantage with a stunning display taking home a total of 56 points and storming to the summit of both tables in the process. There were all sorts of movements in the Total Points Table with bb21 tumbling to sixth place from second, and both newbie babs and Greenback making up ground. MattE2010 was the other star performer of the round, averaging 2 points per game.

Ivo took home top prize in both bonus categories, partly owing to a lack of challenge from both of his nearest rivals. Greenback and MattE2010 were second and third respectively in the aggregate away goals category, while their roles reversed in the attendance category.

Bonus Points Distribution

A high-scoring round across board and relatively evenly distributed bonus points meant that positions in the tables stayed almost static, with the only exception being MattE2010 trading places with SS4 in the Average Prediction Points Table. The biggest shock of the round came from Liberty Stadium, where Swansea put out a stunning performance to see off cash-me-success Manchester City 1-0. No one even foresaw a Swans victory.

There were a number of entries scoring over 2 points per game, but "performance of the round" must go to Greenback with 45 points from 20 games and an overall total of 51. Amongst others, newbie babs and MattE2010 both did brilliantly, notching up 43 and 42 points respectively from their predictions.

Greenback was 3 away in the aggregate away goals category and took with him 6 points. bb21 took 3 points with a modest margin of 5. newbie babs and valenta both secured themselves the final point on offer.

SS4 narrowly missed out on the precision bonus for aggregate attendance, with a margin of 1199, but did bag 6 points. MattE2010 was also close, being just over 5000 away, and scored 3, with valenta, again, completing the bonus line-up.

Bonus Points Distribution

In a round dubbed "the goalfest", double the number of goals were put away by the away team compared to last week. This, combined with some high final scorelines produced some distinctively average performances. Ivo managed to notch up 40 points and was the best performer of the round.

MattE2010 anticipated the change in aggregate away goals well and scored the maximum 6 points. newbie babs trailed slightly and scored 3, while SS4 scored 1.

bb21 submitted a decent forecast of the attendance figure and took home 6 points with a margin just over 2000. Greenback continued his tradition of good performance in this category and scored 3, and Ivo completed the bonus line-up.

Bonus Points Distribution

In an otherwise uneventful round, the biggest news is a tough-talking Leeds side, under outspoken new manager Neil Warnock's direction, having seven goals smashed past them for the first time in their history at Elland Road, and by no other than an out-of-sorts Nottingham Forest team struggling for form at the wrong end of the table. In fact, Leeds's defence was so inept on the night that they allowed their opposition to score in a short space of 73 minutes more than what they managed for 15 games in all competitions between November 26th and February 14th. newbie babs pulled off a magnificent display again, scoring 43 points, and in the process surging to second place in the Total Points Table and becoming the new challenger to Ivo's stay at the submit. MattE2010 is showing signs of his heroic performances in the latter stages of last season again and started to steadily climb up the tables.

The top away goals bonus goes to MattE2010, for the second time in a row, whose entry was only 2 away, in an unexpectedly high-scoring round by the away teams, in which Nottingham Forest (or should I say Neil Warnock's Leeds United) was responsible for seven of them. Greenback was second, while Ivo just edged out three competitors to take one point home.

bb21 was closest in the attendance category, also for the second time in a row, with Greenback second, for the second time in a row (!), and newbie babs the final beneficiary of the bonus system.

Bonus Points Distribution

A low-scoring round saw many contestants struggle at around the 30-point mark. SS4 was the only one who put in a decent entry and scored 43 points. Total Points Table had a big reshuffle in which all places between 4th and 7th were completely reversed. Similarly the reversal happened between 5th and 7th place in the Average Prediction Points Table. Ivo's lead in the Total Points Table is now down to 9 points. The contest is wide open.

Away goals have gone back to being a scarce commodity with a surprisingly low total of 15. newbie babs, who had the lowest entry was therefore closest. bb21 took 3 points and Ivo managed to sneak the last bonus point ahead of Greenback.

SS4 came in closest in the attendance category with a margin just under 10000. valenta was slightly behind by around 1600 and MattE2010 managed to win the last bonus point.

Bonus Points Distribution

Shock results galore meant that it was a low-scoring round all around, with the star-performer being Greenback on 36 points. A resurgent Nottingham Forest continued to upset the odds and brought home with them another deserving victory, this time at Selhurst Park. No one scored a single point for that fixture.

A disastrous round for Ivo meant that he finally surrendered top place in the Total Points Table, a position he occupied for five weeks, to newbie babs.

newbie babs, for the second week running, was closest in the away goals category, while MattE2010 and SS4 shared second place and therefore 3 bonus points.

The aggregate attendance category was a much more fiercely fought contest. bb21 edged Ivo slightly to top prize with a margin of 700. MattE2010 picked up the final point with another entry under 10000 away.

Bonus Points Distribution

After a poor round last week, the Easter weekend brought much better news for a number of participants. MattE2010 scored a massive 45 points, while valenta scored 41 points, both averaging over 2 points per game. The performance of the round goes to newbie babs (Sorry, Matt!) for maintaining her cool now that the pressure of the chase is on her. She also scored a whopping 43 points, thereby opening up a sizeable gap at the top of the Total Points Table.

Ivo has wabbled at the wrong time of the season, after another indifferent showing, and now risk losing his lead in the Average Prediction Points Table, hanging on by the narrowest margin. newbie babs's late surge might well see her take over at the summit of this table as well next round, should she put in another fine performance.

The contest in the away goals category was much more closely fought this week. bb21 and valenta came joint top being only one solitary goal away. Ivo, Greenback and SS4 all tied for third place, taking home one bonus point each.

For the second week in a row, bb21 went away with top prize in the aggregate attendance category, with another decent entry at a margin of a shade under 4000. Ivo managed to halt the slide in his performance slightly taking 3 points, while valenta managed to bag yet another point in his quest for championship in the Total Points Table.

Bonus Points Distribution

In exactly the same manner as last season, the penultimate round saw some missed entries at one of the most crucial times of the season, only that this time it did make a real difference in terms of positions in the tables. Failing to enter meant that Ivo slid right down to fifth place while Greenback effectively dropped to the bottom of the Total Points Table. The championship is now essentially a two-horse race between newbie babs and valenta. With only four points in it, it would go down to the wire.

In the other table, although sometimes not entering could be beneficial in hedging against poor performances, it was sadly not the case for Ivo this time. bb21 notched up 40 points to take the lead from him and is now on course to defending his title from last season, however the lead is so small that anything can still happen. There are at least four contestants still in with a shout.

As we close in onto the end of the second campaign, the top away goals bonus went to SS4 with a decent margin of 2. newbie babs and bb21 tied for second place, each scoring 3 points.

MattE2010 had the best prediction of aggregate attendance and therefore won top prize in that category. valenta and bb21 were narrowly behind, in second and third places respectively.

Bonus Points Distribution

The final round produced little changes in the Total Points Table, largely owing to newbie babs saving the best till the last and pulling off a magnificent performance to storm home with the title after notching up 56 points all things considered. valenta, despite all his efforts to keep up with the forerunner of the competition, once again fell short at the finishing line and had to settle for second place.

The fight for superiority in the other table went right down to the last game of the season, due to the postponement of the Leicester v West Ham game till Monday night. An extra goal scored by West Ham could have changed everything however Ivo held his nerve to beat bb21 to the crown by the narrowest of margins having played one game less.

In a stunning show of calculated risks and daring predictions, newbie babs was rewarded with the top prize in both bonus categories, furthermore gathering 5 precision bonus in the attendance category with a margin of 743.

valenta shared the maximum bonus in the away goals category, while Greenback and bb21 tied for third place.

bb21 took 3 points in the attendance category, while valenta scored the final bonus point, edging out MattE2010 by 800, who would have gone away with the full bonus in many other rounds.

A much-lower-than-expected away goals tally stumped everyone (almost) in the opening round of the new season. However most participants still put in a decent performance scoring around 2 points per game, much improved from the opening round of previous seasons. Summary

The shock of the round came at Brunton Park where promotion hopefuls Carlisle United were thrashed by the visitors from Merseyside. Only two entries picked up any points for that fixture.

This time it was the turn of the attendance figures to surprise a few. Being midweek and so close to the opening day encounters, many grounds felt emptier, resulting in a lower-than-average figure which many entries over-estimated. Greenback and Temple Meads both picked up another four precise predictions each. The question now is how long can they keep it going? bb21 showed promising form from previous seasons in bagging 47 points and storming up the tables subsequently.

Summary

A poor start to the season by Birmingham City threw many punters, with very few points being scored from games involving the Blues. Again this round only three participants managed to notch up a total of seven points amongst them out of thirteen that submitted entries.

The star performance so far this season must go to valenta, whose tactics of submitting the entries early seem to have been working well so far. The mind-blowing performance of 12 correct results (win/lose/draw) from a total of 19 games helped him take away 51 points altogether. It not only allowed him to storm up to the summit of both tables, but also signalled his strong intention of challenging for that elusive championship which he narrowly missed out on in the previous two seasons. He is the only player so far to have ever achieved an average of over two points per game after two rounds or more. This took the shine of atomicdanny's otherwise excellent performance of 43 points from 19 games somewhat, the equivalent of 45 points in a full round.

The battle for the bonus points was much more closely fought this time, in which a player loses out if the margin of error for aggregate away goals is 2, normally good enough for top spot.

Summary

Summary

Having finally fought his way to the summit of the Total Points Table, Temple Meads decided that he had tasted enough success and handed the lead on a plate back to valenta, by not submitting an entry for this round. Nevertheless the general poor performance across board continued this round as a result of many surprising scorelines. This is demonstrated by Temple Meads actually jumping up two places in the Average Points Table.

There were five games for which no one predicted a correct result (win/lose/draw). Fixtures 120607 and 120608 both scored the participants a grand total of two points combined (from 11 entries), whereas a surprising win for the Gasheads at St James's Park brought home a measly three points combined.

Only two entries scored more than 30 points from 20 games. andrew bell scored 31 points, whereas valenta was undoubtedly the star-performer of this round with 39 points, which enabled him to retake the lead in both tables.

Summary

Three people failed to submit an entry for this midweek round of games including the organiser who inexplicably overlooked the instructions he sent to everyone else, and Temple Meads, whose second consecutive no-show sent him tumbling down the Total Points Table faster than Facebook's share prices, although freakishly he resurfaced to the top of the Average Points Table by virtual of his competitors' inability to score highly enough.

Struggling Posh pulled off a superb victory at Oakwell and stunned the majority of the punters, with equally struggling SS4 the only person to foresee the result, who, despite having difficulties scoring for his fixtures, chalked up another 11 bonus points for a near-perfect attendance forecast. Amazingly, David scored maximum points for five fixtures this round, no mean feat by the usual standards on this forum.

Summary

Summary

A high-scoring round in which the eleven entries scored an impressive average of 34.7 points from the twenty fixtures, with the highest of which coming from David, whose much-improved form recently saw him chalk up a total of 44 points from the games, and a grand total of 52, bringing him level on points with Ivo, who had a 14-point advantage just before kick-off. Arsenal's 3-all draw with Fulham was the biggest surprise package of the round, netting a total of five points from 11 entries, with the only correct result coming from a first-timer.

newbie babs pulled off a stunning performance scoring 45 points from the fixtures, while bb21 followed closely behind with 42, who for the second round in a row scooped home top prize in the aggregate attendance category, and andrew bell with 40, including eleven correct results. David's flirtation with bonuses continued as he took another six points home, bringing his tally up to 61. SS4 now has a league record which he probably would not want to own - the lowest points tally from a round of 20 games, at 13.

Some flat performances from people at the top of the tables meant that there was preciously little movement. The Total Points Table remained as it was at the end of Round 13, albeit with Ivo's lead slightly cut. In the Average Points Table, top two and bottom two both swapped places.

Summary

David continued his good form picking up bonuses by scoring another 11 in this round, which combined with his fixtures performance of 42 points, was enough for him to eat into Ivo's 17-point lead a the top of the Total Points Table completely. These two are now level on points.

MattE2010 is another star-performer with 41 points from 20 games, and seems to be repeating his end-of-season surge up the table with some very decent performances of late.

The new kid on the block, CallySleeper, is a dark horse in the making averaging 1.85 points per game in his first two rounds. Should his form continue this weekend, it will see him enter the Average Points Table at the very top. CallySleeper got 12 correct results out of 20 in this round, which is no mean feat, while both MattE2010 and David picked up 11 correct results.

Temple Meads huffed and puffed and eventually dropped out of the tables after three rounds' absence.

With four rounds left, the sprint towards the finishing line is heating up. In a relatively high-scoring round, bb21 carried on the good form of late scoring 47 points and managed 11 correct results in the process. valenta also managed 11 correct results and took home 45 points, just staying ahead of bb21 in the Total Points Table. Summary

The penultimate round of the competition produced many surprising scorelines, which were reflected in the scoring of the majority of the entries.

Ivo broke the all-time record after producing an awe-inspiring performance to take 57 points, and then topped it up with another six bonus points in the attendance category. The title of the Total Points Table looks set to be his, having established an almost unassailable 44-point lead.

In the meanwhile he also shot back up the Average Points Table to second place, now with a deficit of just under 0.05. A swing of around 20 points purely from scoreline predictions is required and this has blown the race to the title wide open.

Unsurprisingly Ivo had 14 correct results this time round, with six of them being 5-pointers. Of the remaining entries, bb21 has 11 correct results, while David and andrew bell both managed 10.

Summary

Nine people submitted their predictions for the final jostle, and indeed produced some stunning performances never seen before, with four people scoring more than 2 points per game.

David amassed 48 points with 13 correct results, though this was too little too late in his push for the trophy. Similarly valenta scored 45 points with 11 correct results, however inconsistency at the tail-end of the season once again saw him drop off from the races to the top. andrew bell got 43 points with 11 correct results, whole MattE2010 predicted five correct scorelines in a total of ten correct results that gave him 42 points.

SS4's Random Number Generator certainly did a better job than himself so perhaps he should keep it for the next season, with 37 points. He must thank his computer for helping him avoid the wooden spoon by one of the narrowest margins.

Also worth mentioning for this round is the number of people that got large bonus points, with four on at least eight points, which is another phenomenon unseen before. Well done to all.

bb21's failure to enter at the final stage of the season meant that destiny was firmly in Ivo's hands, however he was unable to keep up his momentum from the last few rounds to snatch a double-championship. Maybe next year.
