Can anyone explain this one to me? What if there is an overlap between the two maps? I'm reading a permitted route which contains 'WY+GM' Do the two maps touch at Stalybridge or Huddersfield?

just choose any point which is on both maps; Stalybridge, Huddersfield or Halifax are all fine.

OK thanks for that! I was thinking it had to be the point at which they only just touch, i.e. at the edge of both maps
