Totally irrelevantNot really though is it. If the employee is autistic it may highlight a need for further training for employees with disabilities.

Would stopping a train really endanger the safety of the railway? It would still have been protected by signals. The situation would have been no different than if there was a genuine concern and the train was stopped to check it.Sounds crazy! Can't believe an employee of all people would endanger the safety of the railway for the sake of a photo opportunity! I couldn't find any links on facebook, so perhaps they have been taken down.
Surely stopping any train in an emergency creates a hazard and thus a risk to other trains? The train behind might be on a green and then finds the next signal suddenly has changed to red, and has to stop rapidly to avoid a potential collision. I assume detonators are still employed on network rail to protect traffic?Would stopping a train really endanger the safety of the railway? It would still have been protected by signals. (Don't misunderstand, it was a really dumb thing to do and did no one any favours.)
Yes, if the train is carrying Dangerous Goods. (Which this one was.) It is being taken extremely seriously by all the parties concerned.Would stopping a train really endanger the safety of the railway? It would still have been protected by signals.
