Have you tried searching for vacancies on the Train Operating Companies respective websites? Your post would seem to suggest just that... If not then I would suggest that you start searching the respective companies vacancy pages, and keep an eye on this forum as new posts tend to get highlighted on here.

Thanks

Ben

Southeastern Trains have been advertising for Trainee Drivers recently, but as far as I know this vacancy has been filled within just a few days of being uploaded. It's huge rivalry to get to become a trainee, so few TOC's will dedicate their money into training and prefer people with existing qualifications and talent. Easiest thing to do is keep an eye out and keep checking all the TOC's websites.

Find out which TOC/FOCs are local to you (if you'd rather not relocate) and bookmark their careers pages. Then just check them daily (I always checked twice daily) for trainee vacancies. The one's I've applied to in the past have always been up a day or so, so hopefully you shouldn't miss them then.
Good luck!

I'm in the same boat. I'm regularly checking for vacancies with Govia but no luck so far. It's also a little disheartening to read that there are so many people already selected/passed and waiting for such a long time in a talent pool.

Given such a large talent pool exists how often do driver jobs come for the Thameslink line? Is there an average number of jobs per year etc? Is it possible that no further jobs will be advertised for several years?

I'm expecting a long wait. Ho hum
