As it's that time of year (and it was snowing yesterday), here is some video from back in 2001 when we were on a trip through Boston, New York and New England.
First up is an Amtrak 'Vermonter' calling at Waterbury, Vermont, top-and-tailed by F40PH #414 and #226. After a Hi-Rail interlude, we move to Rowley, Massachusetts for an MBTA train from Newburyport, pushed by a GP40MC.
About a month after this video was recorded, Amtrak F40PH #414 was involved in a collision at Syracuse and probably never ran again.
We certainly had plenty of snow on that trip - in New York on the day before New Years Eve we experienced a major snowstorm complete with thunder and lightning...and the snow in Stowe (just up the road from Waterbury) was waist deep, as we found out the hard way
