Seem rather swish. What kind are they?

When I went on one yesterday, the kindly ticket inspector (CLEARLY and POLITELY. Take note Scotrail) told me I was going to have to go to a specially designed carriage for bikes. Wow. It looked great.

One thing that bugs me about them though, actually alighting passengers seems to be an afterthought in the trains design. Every time it hit a stop, the GOOD ticket examiner would run like Linford Christie, putting his key in a box at the door for every carriage (I assume. He ran away quick from the one I was at)

Basically, what kind of trains are these? I'm a bit of a fan.

Oh, here there and anywhere
Sounds like the 57 end of a 156 with the bike rack.

If the bike rack was in the middle and you were next to the toilet then it would be a 158.

If it was a 3 car then a 170 turbostar would be the train.

Ive driven all 3 classes up that line so i could be any of them.
