Hi everybody,

are any (passenger?) services scheduled to run via the Battersea Reversible Line (Clapham Jn -> Pouparts Jn -> Stewarts Lane Jn.) during the current timetable period or the period 2019 (May-December).

Greetings from Germany
Adrian ;)

As far as I can see, looking quickly, no. The only trains at Stewarts Lane Junction seem to be from Victoria or via Factory Jn.

That is on the Brighton Reversible, The Battersea reversible is the line from Victoria to Stewarts Lane, The Battersea Reversible is normally used for ECS and Freight trains

Should imagine outside of engineering diversions/ECS, the last time anything booked ran that way was when the old Victoria - Tunbridge Wells service used to operate

Assuming that was a SE service (whatever operator had the franchise), why would it not follow the standard Chatham Mainline route? Retention? What was the calling pattern? Sorry, didn’t know this existed and kinda intrigued

Off-peak, it ran from Victoria to Tunbridge Wells first stop East Croydon around 1995/1996. Departure time from Victoria was xx43 but it arrived at East Croydon after the xx47 service.

In the summer 1996 timetable it called London Victoria - East Croydon - Redhill - Nutfield - Godstone - Edenbridge - Tonbridge - High Brooms - Tunbridge Wells. It was later diverted to London Bridge instead. Peak trains ran to London Bridge. The train on the opposite half-hour ran Three Bridges to Maidstone West and called at all the intermediate stations east of Redhill.

One of the problems with using the Battersea reversible is that it has a single lead connection with the up fast line at Pouparts Junction so isn't particularly convenient. It is also single track where it goes under the Chatham and Waterloo lines.

Ah so a precursor to the London Bridge - Tonbridge service. Did not know it ever extended beyond Tonbridge. Thank you for that
