erm, 377/2 still require a guard to open and close the doors
as with 313s, the guard sits in the rear cab and operates the doors

377/2s operate without a guard generally south of Clapham Junction. They are the only `mainline`train with a guard for some part of their journey.

Don't Southern use Guards between Dorking and Horsham still?

Yes and most Southern Sussex Coast services have a guard, its only the metro and Brighton services that are DOO. On all 377s the driver opens the doors.
it is Southern Policy that the guard will travel in the passenger compartment and operate the door close from there riding in the rear cab is frowned upon.
