Travelodge, Premier Inn or similar in Greater London with parking.

Hi, my parents are looking at spending a few days in London. They want to travel there by car but use public transport to get around while there. Does anyone have any recommendations of a Travelodge, Premier Inn or similar standard of hotel in Greater London that has parking either on site or close by (such as NCP) and is within walking distance of an Underground or Railway station? Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

Premier Inn at Romford is a good shout. There will be plentiful others.

We stayed in the Walthamstow Travelodge recently which is adjacent to Walthamstow Central. You can park in the station car park.

It partly depends which side of London they would be travelling, but:

Premier Inn at Elstree/Borehamwood has on site parking (chargeable). Whilst it's a bit of a way from Elstree & Borehamwood rail station, there is a bus stop (107 bus) outside the hotel. This serves both Elstree/Borehamwood station, High Barnet tube station and New Barnet station.

I’d take a good look on Tripadvisor before booking any Premier Inn or Travelodge in London at the moment, many of them have bedbug infestations at present…

If you're coming from the west, Hayes and Harlington Premier Inn is pretty close to the M4, has parking and is 5 minutes walk from the station.

Another option in West London is the Travelodge at Stockley Park. Free parking (you have to register at reception once a day). Not particularly close to a rail head, but frequent bus connections to Hays & Harlington, West Drayton & Heathrow Central.

Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express at Watford Junction might be a decent shout. Not in Greater London but easy enough to travel in.

We've stayed at the Premier Inn at Sidcup a few times. It's right opposite the station.

Hi I’ve stayed at Travelodge London Wembley High Road previously. The entrance to the hotel is around the back of Wembley Central tube station. I am visually impaired so don’t drive but the Travelodge website indicates there is parking close by which guests can receive a discount on.

Please note reception at this hotel is on the first floor and rooms are on the first floor or higher.

Premier Inn Harrow was alright, right next to Kenton station, so Bakerloo & Overground.

Premier Inn Croydon is almost next to the station (Caithness Walk entrance) and there is a car park about 100 yards away.
There is also a Hampton by Hilton across the road from the car park - sometimes worth checking as they include a hot buffet breakfast with all their prices.

Premier Inn London Southgate is very close to Southgate underground station. There is (quite expensive) parking next to the hotel.

Travelodge London Southgate is a bit further from the station but plenty of buses for the short journey to the tube or Palmers Green railway station. It has free parking.

I would strongly advise against Premier Inn Sunbury (Kempton Park), even though it has on on-site car park. When we stayed a couple of years ago, the general experience was awful with fairly tired rooms, including non-functional air con and no opening windows. It was horrid, and wasn't even in particularly warm weather. I can't imagine it will have improved

But where are your parents coming from? Plenty of options near the main motorways from all parts, tell us and we can sort exactly where to stay.

Premier Inn Stevenage has a good reputation and free parking with the station close by.

Thanks for all the great suggestions everyone I’ll have a look into those!

@MattyH they’ll be travelling from the North, along the M40 / A40. Cheers.

Another good option is Motel One. They have two properties in Edinburgh within walking distance of Waverley, one on Glasgow near Central and various properties around the UK.

I like Motel One, but they tend to go for city centre properties without parking so probably wouldn't suit the OP.

Might be worth looking around the Hanger Lane area (A40) as it has Central Line (Hanger Lane) and Piccadilly Line (Park Royal) tube stations.

There are two Premier Inns in Stevenage. You want Stevenage Central which is a 15 minute walk from the station, not Coreys Mill.

Alternatively the Stevenage Holiday Inn Express is a 2 minute walk from the station.

Plentiful fast trains from Stevenage that take 20 minutes non-stop to Finsbury Park/28 minutes to St Pancras.

Any of the hotels near Canary Wharf have parking if you want to be quite central, the Canary Wharf car parks are only £19 or £25 per night, depending on car park, which isn't bad for London prices.
