Does Colwall still have trains to both Birmingham and Paddington? It used to I think.
It certainly had direct trains from Paddington a few years ago. I remember getting off an HST there, having travelled from Reading to go walking on the Malverns. No one else got on or off, so even though it wasn't a request stop, it still felt as if the HST had stopped just for me . Quite a contrast with Reading!

Freshford, Avoncliff, Dilton Marsh, Thornford and Yetminster offer similar contrasts to Bristol Temple Meads

Yetminster station is at least in the village it serves - it feels like a metropolis compared to the others mentioned.

Newport and Severn Tunnel Junction are an interesting contrast of adjacent stations - the former is a busy city centre station, the latter feels like it's in the middle of nowhere. Both Rogiet and Caldicot are nearby, but it doesn't feel like it when you're at the station.

As a twist on the interpretation of the question, how about Berry Brow and Brockholes? On the face of it these two stations are fairly similar to each other: single platforms with just a shelter, ticket machine and small PIS display, and both serving semi-rural/suburban villages. However that's where the similarities end, with Brockholes having the disused second platform visible and festooned with heritage signage (the building is now a private house), whereas Berry Brow is a 1990s "flatpack" type platform.

Taking the Settle to Carlisle line from either Leeds or Carlisle and alighting at Dent is certainly a contrast in surroundings!

South Gyle and Edinburgh Gateway are very different despite being very close to each other.

In steam days there was a named train "The Welshman" which served London Euston (the heart of the Greatest Empire etc etc) and both Bryncir and Chwilog, tiny villages where, in those days, English was barely spoken!
