Bristol Temple Meads has at least 14

Bristol Parkway
Filton Abbey Wood
Newport (one Saturday night service non stop Newport - Cardiff)
Stapleton Road
Lawrence Hill
Bedminster
Parson Street
Nailsea and Backwell
Weston-super-Mare
Taunton
Keynsham
Bath Spa
Bradford on Avon (one early morning to London Paddington via Trowbridge)

Used to have a morning service where the first stop was Oldfield Park but this doesn’t seem to run anymore.
I think there is also non stop service to Yatton on one of the London super fast services to Weston-super-Mare.

Oldfield Park? There is at least one train showing as not calling at Keynsham next week

A good 21, not surprising given 7 TOCs serve the station.

Reading has a few:
  • Twyford
  • Maidenhead
  • Slough
  • London Paddington
  • Tilehurst
  • Didcot Parkway
  • Oxford
  • Swindon
  • Reading West
  • Basingstoke
  • Earley
  • Winnersh
  • Wokingham
  • Guildford
  • Theale
  • Newbury
  • Pewsey
  • Taunton
There's also a morning peak Basingstoke to Reading service that doesn't stop at Reading West so you can add Mortimer to the list.

There's also one that's first stop Goring & Streatley, and a first stop Mortimer. In the other direction there's a Basingstoke to Reading calling only at Bramley too.

I have found services to Birmingham New Street from Sutton Coldfield and Ashchurch for Tewkesbury so that comes to 30.

Also Stafford. In the Dec 2019 timetable there is a SO 0712 ex Birmingham New St for Crewe, which omits Wolverhampton.

If you are including non public stops then you could add inverkeithing and falkirk grahamston to the list (the other sleeper portions)

If non public stops count does that services that are timetabled to stop between stations for any reason don't count?

Not to set down. So it depends if non public stops count.

The question of "do booked stops count even if they are unadvertised or set down / pick up only?" always crops up on "non stop services" threads.

As the OP of the thread I'm going to say non public and unadvertised services do not count. Also if it is not possible to travel between two stops due to pick up/set down restrictions such as between Euston and Watford Jct on Avanti, they do not count either.

I guess the Blackfriars is from the overnight services which only pause at Farringdon to change to DC without the doors being released as the station is closed, similar to northbound services at City Thameslink when that station is closed.

I'm surprised there isn't anything fast to Bedford

Preston?
  • Mill Hill
So that's 23. But add other sleeper stops I've missed out and maybe Penrith and it surely runs close?

I'm curious which trains run between Preston and Mill Hill (or v.v.) none stop, as I can't think of any on the top of my head.

Your point about Penrith is definitely correct Southbound, ignoring the current emergency timetable.

The 10:00 Glasgow Central to London Euston via Birmingham runs none stop between Penrith and Preston.

I'm sure there used to be a northbound London to Glasgow which used to run none stop Preston to Penrith, 10:30 ex Euston, but it shows as stopping at Lancaster.
