How more interesting this thread would be if it accepted the inverse. I can only imagine the likes of Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow Central, Clapham Junction etc would have up to double the number of examples - especially if it counted destinations/originations served by non regular but still pre-planned diagrams...?
For example, I can't help but think of the time last year when Aberdeen had a service to Guildford. Taking a step back, it seems extraordinary how the railway can bring those two places together out've chance, as opposed to actually having a valid reason for connecting a town in the SW of England, to a city in the NW of Scotland, alone on its own merits. Though perhaps this is the journies version to my 'unbelievable rolling stock allocations' thread (imagine having Ladybank linking up to Winshester or Guildford for example!).
