Kemble, Stroud & Stonehouse can't platform a HST, Kemble & Stroud can accommodate 7 coaches, Stonehouse 2

With the plans to have all the Cheltenham trains run to Paddington, not alternative ones just 2 or 3 coaches to Swindon will this require any platforms to be extended? Kemble would be an easy win, others more problematic

I was just about mention them! With the new hourly Paddington service pretty much every train calling at Stonehouse will be too long. And doubled up 800s might catch a few commuters out if they get trapped in the wrong unit!

I have been told Stonehouse is being lengthened. I'm not sure if the 800's on the line will double up but I doubt it.

From my observation, 8 mk3s seem to fit on Stroud station.

Not during the day, but five coaches on the morning and evening rushes might be a bit cosy.

Thirsk and eaglescliffe can't accommodate a Grand Central HST

Eaglescliffe can fit Grand Central's HST sets. Even when they ran 2+7 sets. Like you say the rear carriage is un platformed at Thirsk on the UP line, not sure about the DOWN line.

The 17:42 from Bham New St to Rugeley Trent Valley is 4 carriages which means they have to lock out the doors on the rear carriage from Bloxwich onwards.

Only 3 carriages of a 180 can be platformed northbound at Pontefract Monkhill, and at Mirfield all 5-cars can be platformed northbound, but only with the very front and very rear non-passenger doors not alongside the platform.

Prees and Yorton both see 1 3 Car 175 in each direction per day (both by request only) but can only fit 2 cars

The North Wales MkIII + 67 set doesn't fit at Helsby on the morning Chester-Manchester service. The rear coach, closest to the loco, is locked out until after Helsby on that service.

Bilbrook and Oakengates when it is 2X170.

And one Sunday night service booked for 2 X 158

Balcombe (Down platform)
Kentish Town
Cricklewood
Hendon
Mill Hill Broadway
Elstree & Borehamwood
Radlett

These have all seen 12 car services stop on the 8 car platforms.

the platforms have been extended to take 12 car trains at all bar Hendon, Cricklewood and Kentish Town. (not sure about Balcombe)

Branksome and Parkstone (maybe others on the SWML), i believe that a few of the peak trains are 2x450 past Bournemouth, don't know if they go past Poole to Weymouth
