Are there stations in the UK with the same name, even if translated, as in other countries? One that comes to mind is Malmi, in northeastern Helsinki, which translates directly to Ore, though the stations couldn’t be more different, one being quite a nice south coast station and one being in a dodgy Helsinki suburb, with dirty platforms, a permanently broken escalator and usually some drunks on the overbridge. Are there any other ones like this, where the name of a station translates to a UK station? Also I’m not sure whether this is in the correct subforum or whatever it’s called.

Wow !!!
This takes me back to 1981. I wanted to visit the state run Steyrtalbahn in Austria which was the last OBB narrow gauge to be 100% steam worked. The line originally connected the standard gauge Klaus on the Salzkammergut line with Garsten on the line from Amstetten to Kleinreifling.

Succeeded in May 1981 but the line suffered landslips in the winter of 1981 and had been closed when I visited in 1982. Part of the line was taken over by preservationists and reopened.

Obviously Garsten isn't quite the same as Garston !!

There is (or used to be) a small halt in Upper Austria serving the village of Sankt Pankras. Don't think it had international services though.

Halifax, West Yorkshire and Halifax, Nova Scotia.

A shame that Dublin doesn't have stations called North and South (or alternatively that Blackpool's stations aren't called Connolly and Heuston).

Brunswick, Liverpool and Braunschweig Hbf, Germany.

In Australia - though there isn't a station called just 'Liverpool' in England.

New in various languages is likely to be fruitful. Poland has two Nowe Miasto stations (Newtown) and a Nowy Targ (Newmarket). Greenhill (Zielona Góra) once had two stations, Upper and Lower. Russia has Novgorod (Newtown/Newcastle)

Ludlow, Shropshire and Ludlow, NY. There’s also another Newport on the PATH system in NJ

If you allow a bit of leeway, there is a halt called Ryde on the Lollandsbane in Denmark.

You can also have the various Nykøbing in Denmark and Nyköping in Sweden, which could be translated as Newmarket.

Trois Ponts, in Belgium between Liege and Gouvy, is a direct translation of Three Bridges

I can't find much information but there seems to be a Cranbrook station Western Australia - and there is of course a Cranbrook station in Devon. Both seem more like 'halts'

Are only exact station names allowed? Otherwise we have London, Ontario as a VIA Rail station.
Elsewhere in Ontario, on the GO network around Toronto, you'll find Scarborough, Pickering, Whitby, Newmarket, Bradford, Acton, Brampton, Weston, and Aldershot.

Temple is on both the District/Circle lines in London and on line 3 of the Paris Metro.

There are umpteen equivalents of Newtown, Newcastle and Newmarket (the latter particularly Germanic). Newport though - Nieuwpoort comes to mind, but as it only has the coastal tramway, Port-la-Nouvelle will have to do; the weather's warmer and the beach is nice enough (away from the refineries) :).

There are several others in Denmark that could fit. Havn could be harbour, dock or port, making Sydhavn Southport. Port could make gate, so you could translate Vesterport as Westgate.
