T&C of the railcard says,

Discounted tickets are valid for travel on all Standard and First Class Anytime, Off-Peak and Advance fares across the National rail network.

My understanding is that ALR is a Rover & Ranger fare (ie. not Anytime, Off-Peak or Advance), which is not mentioned above. Based on that I would say that my interpretation of the rules says no.

However given that it is such a new product, you might be better off enquiring with a TOC or even ATOC.

So why cannot ATOC state WHICH rovers and rangers the two-together railcard CAN be used on ?

The statement "most rovers and rangers" is useless to everyone !

I got all excited when I was doing an online search just now and Two Together Railcard came up (never heard of it until today), then I discovered it's only available if you live in a few areas in the Midlands :(. How is that fair? Is it funded by a particular TOC?

I live in Herefordshire but that isn't one of them :(.

It's a pilot scheme at the moment. It is not guaranteed that it will continue after the end of the scheme.

The address is not checked upon application, so you can go and get one from a ticket office within the designated area yourself quite easily.

Ooh, worth thinking about. I'd be worried that if we kept boarding in Hereford and producing the card they might get suspicious after a while! Also my Eastcoast online account seems to have my address (was collecting at the counter once as TVM out of order, and assistant remarked that her son lives in my road!) so it would be a gamble in case TVM out of order again. Presumably you have to give an address, even if a made-up one? No, far too stressful lol. I'd be a nervous wreck.

I do change at BHM sometimes though. Hmm...
