Uckfield to Lewes-new report into proposed reopening

Hidden away in the small print of the Government "Budget 2015" was that £100,000 has been allocated for another report into the reopening of the Uckfield- Lewes railway line. There have been several reports in the past into this scheme but so far it was proved uneconomic but with rising passenger numbers now travelling by rail the case is getting stronger.

£100,000 doesn't buy you very much. A person-year including expenses. Unusual for something so low cost to be included in the budget.
