Sounds like an interesting day, a shame I'm pottering around Yorkshire, otherwise I would have booked on it.

Thank you for putting the times up. I did look at real time trains, but it was not showing so far.

It should be an interesting journey. :D

I Travelled on this tour yesterday, it was a good trip with great running, especially along the south coast and LSWR main line coming back.

Owing to the nature of the tour, I was not able to see much of the train from the outside, but it did seem very long, I think nine passengers coaches, TWO kitchen cars and a support coach. Can anyone confirm that?

Really nice and friendly fellow travelers on board too. :D

    Tks.

I also heard there were two kitchen cars. There was also a buffet car (the buffet was obviously not being used)!

Two kitchen cars isn't unusual on UKR trips. A kitchen car can normally cope with serving around 3 coaches of diners, so if there are (say) five or six dining carriages, then two kitchen cars will be included in the formation.
