Just seen this article:

https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news...dreadful-yorkshire-train-service-uks-17884447

A morning commuter train from Harrogate to Leeds was the most cancelled rail service in Britain.

The 7.13am Northern service failed to run 28 times since the failing operator introduced new timetables on December 15, The Sunday Times reports.

That means the service was cancelled on more than half the 55 mornings it was scheduled to run.

How correct is this? I feel like the Harwich - Cambridge boat train didn't run at all for well over a month?

What counts as a cancelled train though? Is it only services that are cancelled on the day?

TPE realised it couldn't run a fair proportion of its Edinburgh - Liverpool services and cancelled them a few weeks ahead. Circa 2 months of the same trains being cancelled beats the example quoted in the OP.

How often has the Stockport to Stalybridge service been cancelled over the last year?

Usually one of the first candidates for cancellation during Northern's driver shortage.

There used to be an 0922 Raynes Park to London Waterloo semi-fast service, that them went ECS to Wimbledon Park Depot. Slightest hint of delays it would be cancelled and the stock run direct to the depot, a couple of times a week at least. Although it appeared in the December 2019 timetable it was cancelled in advance every day and has now been removed from the timetable altogether.
