Due to the recent expansion of this company I thought I would begin a separate thread to stop the McGill's thread going off topic.

    To recap recent registrations are:

    2 Coatbridge to Kirkshaws
    13 Coatbridge to Bargeddie.

Also recent additions to the fleet are Optare Solos CX55AUU (https://flic.kr/p/2epa6nv) and GX55LNF.

Never said they were or weren’t but this mob are driving standards of drivers, maintenance issues and I don’t think they know what a timetable is.

This is so true. If I drop the other half at work, I see the United bus in Newarthill. Sits on the main street waiting for the First 254 to come round the corner, then shoots off to scoop up as many passengers as possible. If you want to know the United timetable, look at the First one….

Not to mention fuelling up with passengers on board at Merry Street petrol stn .FACT
Not to mention missing out the top scheme in Newarthill .(reversing into the cul de sac or turning behind shops ...very safe FACT

If you look at the result of the public inquiry into them they were also fined at the time of more discs been given for a number of reasons. Which can be seen on link below.

The exact same place you will be referring to is actually their operating centre, if you take a look at Google Street View you'll see a few parked up.

More vehicles to add to their colourful fleet! Makes bus spotting more interesting! Has United Coaches ever actually had a livery? Or have they always just left their vehicles in their previous owners livery?

I’m well aware of where their operating centre is if you can call it that! The bus was in service prior to catching fire the driver tried to make it to the depot when he saw the smoke but never quite made it as for the wheel coming off again the bus was in service and the wheel fell off in the middle of the road as the driver tried one of the reversing manoeuvres referred to above to get in front of the 254 the wheel fell off causing the bus to block off newarthill high street for over an hour the road was impassable due to this cowboy outfit. As also stated above they regularly fuel their buses in esso on merry street Motherwell whilst in service with passengers on which is a big NO NO! And I won’t even get started on the way they drive in housing schemes to stay in front of the first bus and I thought coakley was bad I will say no more!

So have you reported all this to the Traffic Commissioner then? As that is the only way your grievances will be able to be sorted out in time.

In this publication it says that the current owner purchased the license from Scot Bruce. Not sure the entire deal with WJC but I heard the Bruce wanted funny money for the remains WJC 'preserved' fleet. Think a lot got scrapped.

Stuart Chapman is mentioned a lot as Landlord, adviser, driver, possible real owner

They all seem to be painted pink now, although one still doesn't have a working destination display as it's a non-standard type. Last I checked LED boards can be easily bought and swapped...

They really could do with adding a fleet name and some decals as the livery is horrible on it's own.

Pretty sure there is no law saying buses can't be fuelled with passengers on. Other operators have done it over the years, West Midlands Travel for example as can be seen here:-

Aircraft can do it, with proviso that passengers keep seatbelts unfastened. So I’d say a bus is not really an issue.

The bus is on a registered service and is supposed to operate to a route and timetable not stop off at the petrol station. I say supposed to cause they never run to the route or the timetable on the Motherwell to newarthill service.

Just trying to work this out?

These extra services will need 10 disks, unless the 16 is only every 30mins? which will be a big cut to Kirkwood.

Could probably do the 16 every 20 mins with 1 bus. Silverdale done a 10 min service with 2. However they could do 30mins with 1 since they seem to be having Kirkwood to themselves.

It’s mad seeing areas that used to be fought over with convoys of buses coming down to a one bus service. Have any houses been demolished in Kirkwood/Kirkshaws - don’t think so? If not, where have all the punters gone?
