Over the next few weekends (saturday afternoons & sunday mornings), EC services are been diverted via Lincoln, yet despite this, instead of having the 1830 KX-Newcastle stop there, EC appear to have decided that passengers for Lincoln will travel on 1835 to Grantham for a rail replacement road coach forward.

Is it possible that the 2 minutes or whatever they would have needed for a stop would have screwed up the paths?

Even if they did stop the Newcastle train, they'd've had to run the bustitution anyway to cater for passengers travelling Grantham–Newark, Grantham–Lincoln or Newark–Lincoln... it's a case of doing the minimum required.

Remember, not everyone is travelling to or from London .
