Video Camera Enquiry

Hi All

I am hoping for some nice weather to spend time spotting @ Acton Bridge over the Easter Holidays, but before I do I am wishing to seek some information regarding a new video camera. The one I have been considering is the Sony DCR SR 57E and if anyone already owned one I would be interested on thoughts of it. I would also welcome suggestions for other good recorders which fellow spotters may own.

As a general overview I am after a camera with relatively good zoom and not bad pixels, hence the reason as to why I chose this and not the 77E, the next model up in Sony's range.

I now own a Panansonic HDC-TM700 but this is quite a high end camera so might be out ofyour budget. Some examples using this camera

I am now looking towards the Panasonic SDR-H100, as after further reviewing it seems that Panasonic is generally slightly better than Sony.

Unfortunately, my budget will not allow me to go HD, just yet, but this H100, seems at the top end of SD.
