London TravelWatch has welcomed the start of a 12-week trial of video-linked ticket machines at four stations on the London Overground network after a consultation carried out by the watchdog last year.

The trial, which starts this week, will take place at Camden Road, Crystal Palace, Bruce Grove and Woodgrange Park. It will give passengers access by video-link to a member of staff who will be able to help guide them through the ticket purchasing process and provide other assistance if needed.

Another way they will destaff stations
And put "staff" into currently unmanned stations, which presently only have regular TVMs. For less able passengers this could be very helpful, although if it behaves like a call centre then I can see long queuing times and much frustration.

No, the person will be connected with a member of TfL staff who will be able to directly answer any queries and help with purchasing the ticket.

Since all overground stations are staffed there are no unstaffed stations

I hope the speakers are good! Not the best environment to be trying to listen to someone over poor speakers.
The neighbours better hope the machines are away from them!

A lot of ticket machines (WMT, Southern) have pinhole sized cameras just above the screen, what are those for?
