Apologies all. The first glimpse I caught was a very swift one and I mistakenly thought it a 47. It was indeed a 57315 .

Wow, nice pictures! :)

Certainly is nice to see 57315 working with proper coaches again since Arriva retired it and gave it back to Virgin.

I assume that 57315 will get a make over ? :)

It's a bit strange whats going on with Virgin's 57s at the moment.
From a fleet of 16 originally, 4 went to ATW, then 6 went to Network Rail.
The 4 Arriva 57s (still in ATW colours) have now come back, but Virgin have de-branded 3 Virgin coloured locos, rumoured to be transferring to DRS. With their franchise running out soon, VT are unlikely to repaint 57313-57316 (the Arriva coloured 57s).

I went to investigate the goings-on with Urban Gateline and took a few pictures from the Greenford branch - which was empty as expected apart from one person who actually came looking for a train!

I'm going to upload the pictures (I saw three trains, neither of which I caught the numbers of so I'll have to go back and double check - I did see the 57 though :) ) - here's the set on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/0causton0/sets/72157629981928821/ :)

Adam :)

It's no rumer that they're transfering...They Are!

All 3 57s (302,304,309) ran down to Eastleigh Works last month - conveying the usual DRS London on a Mission headboard, with 309 - The former Brains, entering the repainting facility that evening...

Can anyone tell me what trains ran on the following services:

1Z16 1423 Nuneaton [NUN] to London Euston [EUS] - arrived at Euston at 1637 bang on time
1Z18 1523 Nuneaton [NUN] to London Euston [EUS] - arrived at Euston at 1755 (should have been 1737)

...as I cannot see any identifying numbers on the pictures I have taken! :P

I *think* 1Z18 should be the same as 1Z07 1211 Euston-Nuneaton, which I saw as 221108+116+109 going through SW Sidings at about 12:30, with 221109 being on the London end. Can't help on 1Z06; it was involved in the set-swap at Coventry at about 13:30 so who knows.

Cheers I'll add 1Z18's units to the description then :)

And I agree with General Zod, brilliant photos from everyone else :)

Adam :)
The 4 ATW 57s were still leased & used by Virgin and were only on a sub lease to Arriva. Not sure of the details but VT liveried 57s did very occasionally turn up on the ATW service as well.
