Just seen a post on a Facebook group saying that 43257 has been named #L for Lewis in support of a member of staff with terminal cancer. Quite a gesture, all said

Indeed it is - I have noticed that a lot of donations are from enthusiasts. Some are tweeting about it with #RailwayFamily.

I'm going to throw in some money towards it

Not off the top of my head, no. Since I'm in a part of the world that doesn't have VTEC stock regularly shooting up & down it (i.e. Brum) I can't really comment! There are a few sets that have had it; at least one HST set and one Mk4 set.

We recently had the visit of a Plush Tush working one of the FootEx's from Wembley to Hull

When did 43300 have the #LForLewis decals removed?

There are far more MK4 sets done. BN01, 02, 03, 04, 05 & 07. EC56 is also done. EC64 is probably due out this week as NL65 is being sent in for a spruce this weekend.

NL65 won't be getting the full refurb but seats are being recovered. All carpets replaced, toilet floors replaced & deep cleaner, sockets installed in Standard Class and all seats/carriages re-numbered/lettered to match the current sets.

NL65 won't be getting the new 'Beam' entertainment system either.

Craigentinny is also possibly going to start on MK4 sets after the HST's have been completed in order to complete the refurb on time.

As EC64 is (mostly) still original IC70 seats, presumably that is getting a similar spec of work to what NL65 will get?

I'm not sure as it's not been mentioned. I have only seen pictures of it stripped out and it was in an even more stripped back state than the other HST's.

(A bit of digging and it looks like it's getting a similar job done to it, this could be why NL65 is suddenly going in.)

Does anyone have a list of the coach numbers that are in each coaching rake? I've tried searching but haven't seemed to find one anywhere.

EC64 has retained the original seating which has been re-upholstered. It's due out Sunday.

As I've said. NL65 is going in for a refurb. It went in on Sunday. I'm assuming they got permission to do it from... Who runs EMT again?

I missed that... had problems here with some posts not displayed fully.

If NL65 is going in for a refurbishment, does that mean that the Hull Executive will be run by an actual VTEC set? I presume when NL65 comes out it will still be EMT inside

A standard VTEC rake of MK3s with EMT Power Cars will cover the Hull service while the NL65 coaching set is getting refurbed

NL65 will come out in full Virgin interior much like EC64

Will it be redesignated EC65 or will it still be "owned" by East Midlands? I'm confused by this whole loaning thing

Technically it's not owned by EMT at all, it's owned by Porterbrook Leasing who lease it to one of the TOCs (I'm not sure if there's a sub-leasing arrangement between EMT & VTEC or whether it is leased directly to one of them). If it continues to be allocated to Neville Hill (which it probably will) it won't be re-designated.

You know what I meant...

I don't see the purpose of refitting it to VTEC standards when it is going back, according to EMT, next year. A Minor refurbishment, yes, but not the whole thing... Will it be removed and replaced when it returns?

It's not going back to EMT AFAIAA. NL65 is shown as being with VTEC until the IEPs come in (nominally Dec 2018) according to the franchise agreement.

Thats odd - EMT say they are getting it back next year... I'll find the tweet and post a screengrab of it.

Hmmmm. The EMT direct award franchise agreement makes no mention of it either, the HST fleet being shown as 9 x 8-car sets.
