Not sure if this has been noted already but saw 221110 (110 not 101) yesterday and it has the new blue type external digital destination displays next to the doors.

Worked one of the evening Holyheads through Crewe, not sure which.

Yeah. All the Voyagers are getting them.
Not seen one in the flesh as yet but reports are they're clearly a lot clearer.

For some reason, there are quite a few Voyagers milling around with the old orange screens which look like the orange LCD text has been wiped over like a dry wipe pen. Like no readable text, but blurred just orange across the whole display. No idea what causes that.

Water ingress and condensation are probably the main issues, I'd imagine.

221101 was just a one off for now but does look really good in the full flowing silk livery.
Don't know the plans for Virgins other Voyagers!
As for the 390s, costs, until the new franchise!

As in VTWC chose not to apply it? I thought it had been said here a few times that the reason it wasn't applied was that the leasing company wouldn't allow it.

May also be due to availability of the new headlights, the first unit was paint only and had to have the yellow front. The headlights were due next year. Perhaps they didn't like the idea of calling the units in twice to do the painting and then headlights later.

Hi according to a friend working for virgin. All nameplates saying virgin on it will be removed. Just in case they loose the franchise next year.

All re-livered Class 390s have vinyl name plates anyway instead of real cast ones, and big Virgin vinyl titles so why would it matter what the name? All can be peeled away if need be!

That makes it easier to peel it off if they loose the franchise. Those names can stay as well as doesn’t have Virgin anywhere. They only getting virgin ones nameless.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but 221 106 (festival number 6) now has blue body side screens for the destination.

390122.is out today in the new livery. Still named penny the pendolino but now stickers as with all the other repaints
