Sweet! If I am in Birmingham at the right time, I'll have to get some shots of those! Pity I ain't going up the ECML on that day though!

Gives me something to do on a Saturday in June though if it starts again then!

The X9 is the 'premier' First Western national bus service which replaces the long gone Bude to Exeter train services. I'm going to Holsworthy to see my nan who lives about a 15 minute taxi ride from there in Woodacott. and hopefully meeting you on a railuk meet either on the Monday of Tuesday.

It must go via Barnsley, the Sheffield-Leeds timings and the lack of a Wakefield stop are a giveaway.

According to the VT website there are no engineering works on this route on this date (http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/engineering/default.aspx) but VT's information is always abysmal, often omitting details, never releasing timetables for days affected by engineering works and providing generally sloppy information, so I'll assume VT's site is wrong. Thetrainline.com shows extended timings, but online journey planners do not (what a surprise...).

Leeds-York looks a bit slack, and that recovery time at York station is unusual. Possibly via Castleford? But that's more like 40 mins than 32 mins.

The VT poster in Newport confirms this, and is why I am annoyed at the online ticketing routing me via frigging Glasgow! SOOOO wanted to go via York on that day to do the route via Barnsley!
