Virgin XC north of Oxford 6th March

Anyone know what happened to Virgin services north of Oxford on monday 6th March.
Passengers who travelled north of Oxford were given free food and drinks on southwards services to Southampton and Bournemouth yet the train was ontime from into and leaving Reading and some services were terminated at Reading from Bournemouth around lunchtime.

Engineering works overan. Trains were terminating at Leamingto Spa. Coach from Birmingham to Oxford

Wonder what was wrong as Virgin trains between Bournemouth and Reading were in a right mess.
