London Overground lines to be renamed to reflect capital’s diversity

London Overground lines are to be renamed by Sadiq Khan if he is re-elected mayor as part of his plan to ensure the capital’s infrastructure better reflects its diverse history.

The Watford line could become the Elton line.

Though I'd prefer it if the lines regained their more geographical names, which might actually be of some relevance to travellers.

If others adopted a similar approach then we might end up with the Rhondda branch being renamed the Max Boyce line after his celebrated album, "Live at Treorchy", the line to Weston being the Wurzel Line, and where would it all end.

Not sure on this particular move, but doesn't Bailey want to do more or less the opposite type of renaming and allow naming lines after commercial sponsors? (There are many reasons I oppose this, chiefly as someone against consumerism)
