Hi,

Link to the video (please select high resolution):

A long weekend in eastern Switzerland and southern Germany, staying overnight at St. Gallen, Lindau and Munich.
Including tours along the SOB "Voralpen-Express" route, "Rond om de Säntis" charter with one of the biggest steamers in Europe, former SNCF 141.R.1244 "Mikado", as well as old class Re 4/4 and Re 6/6 electrics with 420 109 in nostalgic "Swiss Express" livery. Via the Appenzeller Bahnen rack railway line to Altstätten, I moved to Lake Constance vineyards near Lindau for the diesel class 218 hauled EuroCity trains Munich - Zürich / Basel, spotted 218 460 in heritage livery three times in total. Next day on through Allgäu, the arrival at Munich was delayed due to hailstorm damage. Tuesday morning a friend took me to the Mühldorf line and Garching for class 218 and 628 commuter trains plus diverted sleeper trains from Salzburg due to the mainline via Rosenheim being closed for construction work.
