Just got an email from them. Say I applied for Preston Depot though! Cup of tea with next week!
I had an email, but my situation has changed now so they won’t be finding out how I have me tea next Friday but good luck and have fun to those who are going
Cheers. I'm only going if it's for Euston. Can't move at the moment.
Mine was Wolverhampton, probably having them all for the same day as it’s a group recruitment day by the sounds of it
Received an email an hour ago inviting me to an interview and assessment day.
Anybody else heard back?
Just seen the above posts......It appears I'm not alone! LOL
It is for Euston mate.
Yes. Got an invite but circumstances have changed. I won’t be going. Good luck all.
Top tip! Buy into the brand!
I've not herd anything... My application still states "Submitted"... looks like I've been unlucky again. Good Luck to ones going!
This is second time lucky for me. I was unsuccessful last time and didn’t even get an interview.
You never know mate- you may be called for another interview date.
Good luck to everyone who’s attending tomorrow!
So. How did you all get on? Hope it went well.
Virgin being virgin, it’s hard to tell!!
Speaking with the interviewers, there are8 interviewees in 2 groups of 4- Morning and afternoon group. I was in the afternoon group.
They’re looking to take on 4 Drivers for EUS
First activity was an online rules test of 40 questions. There were a couple of things I’d never heard of, and of course the dreaded AB working!
Next activity was the group excercise, where we were given 10 minutes to discuss the top 6 NTS attritubes Virgin Drivers need to have.
Lastly the face to face interview with either HR or Euston Managers. I had 2 Managers. It was more like an informal chat than an interview. Lasted around 10-15 minutes which took me by surprise!
Have been told to expect results in 2-3 weeks.
Nice to know the format for the future.
Thanks mate, will let you know how I get on!
Absolute Block working
Asking questions on AB is a tad weird, but hey ho.
I can't think of any AB on the West Coast unless I was a sleep. I signed London to Crewe, plus all diversions round Brum and Bescot.
The only AB working I came across, is on the Ely to Peterborough and the old Lincoln Joint until it was up graded.
North Wales Coast...
Euston don't sign the North Wales Coast. However, they do sign the "Stockport 5", the section of line through Stockport that features five signal boxes in quick succession, signalled under AB.
I was advised by one of the Driver Managers that the line to Chester has semaphores- seems strange
As AB is not relevant for my TOC. It was barely covered in rules.
Not strange at all - there is indeed one box on the Chester to Crewe line that features semaphores (Beeston Castle) and the section between there and the next box at Crewe Steel works is AB signalled. When I mentioned the Stockport section above I'd forgotten that some Euston drivers sign Chester.
Has Anybody who attended the interviews heard back yet?
I've just received an email saying I have passed the recruitment day and I'm being invited into the Talent Pool. They will contact me when a vacancy comes up. The Talent Pool place only lasts for 12 months though so fingers crossed that a vacancy comes up before then!
I too have received that email. I have asked if they’re able to indicate if/when we’re likely to hear back/ start date.
I did hear something the other week that they will be taking on a few more drivers, but I can't think who was talking about it.
I don't think they will go through all the rigmarole of interviews, if it wasn't the case....Good luck and enjoy Preston, It's nice in the winter !!
