Was this train blocked at Rotherham?

I've noticed that engineering work is taking place at Rotherham today, however I've noticed on Traksy and Realtime that 2R68 from Doncaster never made it to Sheffield.

In fact its stuck between Rotherham and Holmes Junction.

Did the engineering works start early, and what would happen in regards to any passengers on that service?

On the basis that unit is allocated to the 1444 Sheffield to Leeds today, i think it’s 110% fair to say it’s just a glitch. They definitely wouldn’t have taken the possession around a passenger train.....

There's also no report in realtime trains for that one beyond Rotherham, and no report between Sheffield-Meadowhall for the following 2R69 2305 Sheffield to Doncaster, but as the chord is single track, and 2R69 has a time at Rotherham, I'd also guess system glitch.

I did go down there today (on a rescue mission with hot coffee and sandwiches*), but I didn't see any starving passengers begging for help, only a squad from the orange army replacing the Tinsley-bound track between Rotherham Central Junction and near the new substation.


*No, of course not, I kept my coffee to myself!

I would agree. Lots of missed reporting for services on the move between 23:04 and 23:18
