Overhead wire problems between Oxenholme Lake District and Lancaster

Description: Train services between Oxenholme Lake District and Lancaster are being disrupted due to overhead wire problems.

Services travelling north-bound between London Euston and Glasgow Central/Edinburgh will terminate at Preston.

Services travelling south-bound between Glasgow Central/Edinburgh and London Euston will terminate at Carlisle.

A shuttle bus service will operate between Preston and Carlisle in both directions.

Extended journey times of up to 90 minutes can be expected.

Disruption to services is expected to continue for the remainder today

OHL problems at Natland just south of Oxenholme this morning caused chaos throughout the day here with single line working in operation between Milnthorpe and Lambrigg.

To add to the engineers' woes, the weather deteriorated in the afternoon to gale force winds and rain. By now the power was off and 57306 drags a Euston-Glasgow service away from Oxenholme having just regained right line running.
