A short film on the WR Youtube channel about our fundraising plans for the Eastward extension. This will go some way to bringing the six miles of existing track up to a decent operating standard and make our total running length around 22 miles. We then just need to think about installing the halt at Northallerton (Castle Hills) and access, none of which is insurmountable given relatively modest levels of funding.

Please spread the word and donate any loose change you have. Every single coin helps with the challenge.

After THAT it'll be the push West....

Good luck with the Eastern extension, how far is Castle Hills from Northallerton.?

I went on the line a couple of years ago, caught a bus to Leeming Bar which worked out fine, then at the end of the line at Redmire, caught the Vintage bus to Hawes, returned to Redmire, had a great meal at the Bolton Arms before going back on the train which was steam hauled.:D It would then be great if the Westbound extension was built too.

One of my favorite places to go....................we often drive over from Carlisle just for a day out on this brilliant railway.....................the Deltic hauled services last year were unforgetable.
