Hi,
is there is a specific class of train (158,380,etc.) that runs the route from Edinburgh-Perth, Perth-Inverness, and from Inverness-Kyle of Localsh? If so, what classes run those routes? If there isn't a specific class, what train classes are used dominantly among these routes?
Thanks

From Edinburgh to Perth & Perth to Inverness, it's mainly 170's with some 158's being added occasionally.

No chance of any 380's as those lines aren't electrified (yet).

Inverness to Kyle will be a 158.

**Mods - can this be moved to a more appropriate sub-forum please?

Yes, but due to the huge number of posts on this forum (typically 1,000+ per day!) most posts probably go unread by moderators. Therefore, please use the report button (

Of course it's also possible to the EDB - PTH and PTH - INV legs on a HST but only once a day in each direction.
