Its a Slow Line block Earlswood to 3B's so could be something to do with Gatwick Airport Station reconstruction. Look out the train on the way down and see if you can spot anyone doing anything.
Connection policy at Redhill is poor at best of times for GWR services and something that GBR needs to do early doors is have a set of principles that underpin the Passenger comes first mantra we hear from industry leaders by ensuring the situation you are having to endure is not acceptable.
In the end, I didn't get the train. I decided to travel another day. Equally, I could have decided not to travel at all.
I thought it might be Gatwick Airport related but wasn't sure.
In fairness though 27 minutes is not a long time to wait for a train.
However, it's a shame the service couldn't have been retimed.
If 27 minutes isn't long, why were the government so keen to promote the speeding up of journeys to Wales by 20 minutes with the electrification of the line from Paddington. I know there are other good reasons for it but it was the speeding up of journeys was one of the points they led on. It certainly stuck in my mind more.
The journey from Guildford to Gatwick Airport is only 45 minutes, so a 27-minute wait on top of that is off-putting. If it's the last train of the night I am more accepting of waits.
On top of this, I couldn't find anything on GWR's Web Site about trains terminating short. I would have thought that worthy of a small note.
