Well i did look it up the next day, but i never found anything on it. I think the loco was stolen from the doncaster area, not 100% on that though :/ Might have been in a donny local paper or something

Maybe the Edlo kids were bored :D.

To give you an idea of the Doncaster neds - they tried to burn down a school so they didn't have to go back the next day, unfortunately for them they managed to burn down the wrong one - which had just been vacated and was up for demolition - and just managed to save the Council a fortune in demolition men!

Then again seeing the class 89 at Leeds about 50 times was fair good as it is my favourite loco...
Oh and double headed 91's at York...

I see them sometimes!

Funny thing happened once, was on a 156 in P2 at nottingham. Saw another 156 depart P1 on a Lincoln run. 2 minutes later, the NR emergency radio noise came from the cab of our train telling the driver of 2Exx (the onbe which I had just seen) to slow down as he was breaking the speed limit, or as I remember it anyway!

Anyone know about 37069 (I think) being haunted? The driver that got killed in it, the horn randomly going off by itself, the fire extinguisher bottles randomly going off, the feeling someone else is in the cab with you...

"Class 37 loco 37069 (formerly Thornaby TMD) is reported to be haunted. The supposed manifestation is that of a driver who was killed when an object smashed through the window hitting him on the head killing him instantly. This incident is reported to have occurred whilst under the pre-TOPS identity of D6769. Reported incidents include the horn going off unexpectedly, the fire bottles discharging of their own accord and an unexplained feeling that you are not alone in the cab. An apparition of the driver has been reported in the driving position."

That would be 91023/91132. It was definately involved in both the Selby and Hatfield crashes, and apparently also the one involved in the Sandy derailment.
In both the Selby and Hatfield crashes, the loco came out with almost no damage because the train had been running DVT end first.

On the run to Sheffield I was looking out the window just after Moorthorpe station and saw a house with 5 giant inflatable figures on top. I couldn't make out what they were - perhaps some Xmas decorations no one can be bothered to take down - but still.

Also, didn't Virgin Voyagers used to display some pretty hilarious stuff on the display screens, or have I imagined that?!

The inflatables were probably those christmas decorations people have these days but they could'nt be bothered to take them out. Nothing that a dart cant sort out anyway!

As for the Voyagers/Pendo's - I do know that sometimes knowledgeable staff used to write 'The Royal Scot' or 'The Flying Scotsman' on the door display screens - which gave an otherwise characterless train a tuch of nostalgia.

Hmm, where do I start....

A couple of porn magazines behind the toilet mirror in 205032 when we doing some repairs to the toilet!! Must of been some fruity commuters on the Uckfield line!

Filming out the front of a DLR train about 6 years ago, a pigeon decided to do a suicidal dive in front of the Window, Splat, nicely caught on camera!! <D

A Fox who was very tame indeed used to like to hang around and sunbathe in Meldon Quarry in Summer 2007. Used to come up to us when we were having lunch! Then strangly disappeared in Autumn, must of tried to become friends with a 66 coming up on a stone train. :|

Couple of weeks ago, a spare 150/2 & 153 came up additional for Servicing at Exeter from Cornwall, attached to a Stopper service (2 x150/2) From Plymouth to Exeter. Result was 150/2+150/2+153+150/2 coming into St Davids, quite rare on a passenger service up from Plymouth! Felt sorry for our shunter though, she had to split them all to fit in the yard (Our shed only take 2x23m vehicles on 2 roads).

Hi there, While being stuck in traffic on the Redheugh Bridge in my bus today, saw a most unusual formation of EWS(DBS) Class 66's, 66138, 66133, 66005, coupled together at the front, with what looked like 6 or 7 bolster wagons, plus a type of crane wagon painted beige at the rear of the formation?

Any Ideas what this was?

Could well be a continuous welded rail train or a rail train carrying 60ft rail lengths.

Would have to be last Saturday at York station when 47773 Propelled a rake of stock out of platform 10 onto the ECML then into a Loop line.
Non of us half way up the station waiting to get a shot were expecting that one as I hardly ever see it being done on preserved lines.

I have seen something similar on the wcml, ableight with less locos hauling it.

Interstingly there is a lot of overnight engineering works taking place on parts of the northern rail network, I know services between Preston - Manchester (via Bolton) and services from Man - Leeds have been affected.
