I am training to become a train driver and iv been told I would need a certain standard of sunglasses if I wish to wear them. Can anyone tell me what type I am allowed to wear?

I would imagine anything that doesn't affect colours, tinted ones are out of the question. I'd stick to black, not sure whether polarisers are allowed or not?

Your company should supply you with sunglasses. They must conform to BSEN1836/1997 (EU PPE Directive 89/686) so that colour distortion is kept to a minimum. Tinted and photochromatic glasses are prohibited in my TOC. Go and see your manager.
