whats the error?

On my FoSW trip, I have funnily enough seen 3 errors, see if you can spot them yourself!

1. Sign at Weymouth

..Only passengers doing business with South West Trains ONLY are allowed on this station

Should be removed as Wessex trains and other tour operators use it as well!

2. At Portsmouth Harbour with two trains at platform 1

'..passegers should join the front 4 coaches for this service..'

there was a 158/9 and in front of that was a 377/3 whats the error in the announcement?

377 type 3s are only 3 cars!

3. on the approach to....on a Wessex 158/9

'We are now approaching Warminster where this train terminates, change here for a bus replacement service to Bristol..'


another error I saw was in the latest RAIL magazine, reviewing 'on the wrong line' book or whatever its called, which said somehting on the lines of

'however, we do have improvements such as the new platform 4 at Bristol Parkway'

It should say '..such as the new platform 4 at Swindon'


Just no.3 to do now!

2. Either 158's and 377's cant connect to each other anyway or 377/3 means that there are 3 coaches on the front train not 4.

3. Should be Rail Replacment Bus not Bus Replacment?

Apart from any railtours/specials that may operate, what about Wessex trains customers?

SWT don't own the station. They lease it. They cannot impose rules like this!

I wonder what Wessex Trains would have to say if they saw that sign!! :roll:

correct! Wessex sill use it, i do have a picture of it where it does say, ill upload it sometime, but yes its wrong, and my sentance was confusing as i said two onlys yes, i believe it says ...only passengers with business with south west trains are allowed...

This so called "improvement" has not yet happenned, plus, they have only proposed to build an additional 3rd platform at BPW

thats the exact sign outside of Weymouth

Also since no one can get the bus replacement, the error the guard said was 'we are now approaching 'Warminster' when in fact we were approaching Westbury where the bus replacements are.
