Is that the Whitchurch in Hampshire? Searching on National Rail Enquiries brought up three of them. Might consider it tomorrow evening.

Does that mean the new modular signalling is in and working, with control from Cardiff, or is it just the sad loss of some more LNWR lineside heritage?

Whitchurch was switched out years ago. Its just/was lineside heritage. It was an eyesore to be honest! Modular signalling is scheduled for August/Sept.

Whitchurch box was only opened as required following its last regular working in the 1990's. Think it was opened for a short time in 2008 due to a power failure which affected the colour light up and down home signals to revert back to red. This had to be reset by opening the block switch to Wrenbury and Prees (probably by a MOM who was called out!!) replace the levers back in the frame, clear all the signals again then close the switch once more!
