they are too costly, plus its a pain in the backside that they need to go to north pole to be serviced.

So what do they do opposite Old Oak Common?
If you're referring to North Pole - maintain them :) ;) .

I see :). I've never previously heard OOC referred to as 'The North Pole.' Any particular reason?
OOC doesn't own North Pole Depot until 2007
it's Eurostar that owns it until 2007

Old Oak Commen Is The Depot on the North Side of the GWML. North Pole Is the depot on the southside, and north pole also has no connection to the GWML.

It's a great name for a depot really! Is it not one of the longest in the UK, due to the size of the trains it services?

Do you mean the depot or the shed? The depot itself can be much longer than the length of one train!

One of its sheds can take the full international eurostar, and the other shed, used for larger maintance, is 1/2 a eurostar long.

they arn't transrail, they are EPS, they just share the same 3 grey livery. they are used on positioning and thunderbird duties, and go around with barrier wagons normally. they also have some 73s, with special couplers on the front.

the 73 can be easily seen from the WLL if you are travelling Northbound

The first one is made at Brookmans park. stand on the edge of the platform between track 1 and 2, but don't set a feet over the line ;)

Photo's made with Canon EOS 350D

Shutterspeed: 1/500
F = 8
48 mm.
Due to clouds I chose 400 ISO

2nd photo made at Alexandra Palace.
Shutterspeed = 1/640
F = 5.6
23 mm
ISO 400

last photo,

Made at Alexandra Palace with 150 mm zoom
Shutterspeed 1/800
F = 10
ISO is 400

My camera was in the "Tv" (TimeValue) mode for these photo's. and in the "P" mode for night shots couse tripods are not allowed on the platform.

No I am back in Holland Again, but perhaps in 6 months I come over again. And I am thinking of going to the Dean Forrest Railway next year. They have Slam Door trainsets.... Something I was terebly missing in London.

And if anyone can tell me what this is..... I thought for a second that I was in Tokyo :lol:

Good to know while I am back in Holland :p . And I will probably not go to London before the White roses are being withdrawn by GNER.

But for others it is valuable information.

And what is the best day for freight via Kensington Olympia :?:
Monday to Friday
