Hi,
is there a way to know if a specific East Coast service will be a class 225 or a 125/HST, more specifically the 11:30 service to Edinburgh?
THANKS in advance.

The 11:30 Kings Cross to Edinburgh is a 225. I check the HST diagrams on the 125 Group site, and if a service doesn't appear there, then by the process of elimination it's a 225.

HSTs are the Aberdeen/Inverness services. 225s are uselly Edinburgh services.
"Usually" being the operative word. There are four weekday East Coast HST diagrams that operate services entirely under the wires, all day. There are also a couple more that only spend a short amount of time away from the wires in a day, such as the set that starts at Hull in the morning and finishes at Lincoln in the evening. East Coasts' HSTs serve a lot more destinations than just the Aberdeen and Inverness services.

In the weekdays the following services are HST
0625, 0830, 1030, 1130, 1230, 1730 and 2100 ex Edinburgh
1000, 1200, 1400, 1500, 1600, 1700 ex London with the early morning Leeds - Aberdeen balancing.

Bad news if you are leaving London in the afternoon as they are hard to avoid (if you want to)

Saturdays and Sundays you need to look at the 125 group website. They change a lot diagram wise depending on engineering work.
