I notice that the morning peak services between Littlehampton and London Bridge and evening peak services between London Bridge and Littlehampton are no longer operated under the Southern brand but rather the Thameslink brand (and now extend to Bedford).

They used to always be Southern branded and is there any scope for them returning to such?

No.

They would only return to Southern if it was deemed that something else needed to go via the core. There isn't another service group into London Bridge at the moment which is suitable for being diverted - eg 12-car services into the low level. The other peak extras from London Bridge are split Arun Valley / Eastbourne on opposite sides of the hour so aren't suitable.

They are still in the process of being transferred TO Thameslink. The 3 each way per day, northbound in the morning peak and southbound in the evening peak are a part of the eventual 24 tph peak Thameslink service. Having survived all the recent consultations, the third train introduction is slightly delayed due to the overall Thameslink gradual ramp up to 24 tph, so I’d have thought transfer back to SN would be incredibly unlikely.

The finished Thameslink product was always going to take services off other routes (Southern, Great Northern, Southeastern)

Other examples are

London Bridge to East Grinstead (Southern peaks)
London Bridge to Horsham (Southern all day)
Kings Cross to Peterborough (Great Northern all day)
Kings Cross to Cambridge locals (Great Northern all day)
London Charing X to Medway towns (Southeastern all day)
London Bridge to Brighton (Southern Peaks)

Are the London Bridge to Horsham all day trains are the ones that run via Redhill, or Sutton and Epsom?
