Any reason why SWR are using 455s on Windsor services, and only 458s or 707s?
Did you mean “not only”?Any reason why SWR are using 455s on Windsor services, and only 458s or 707s?
You are incorrect as all the 707 operated services through Hounslow today have 10 car (actually so have all the 458 servcies as well), there have not been any 5 car services today, however there are more 8 car 450 operated services than before:I believe it is the result of them attempting to wind down 707 use, especially as four have already left. It’s uncommon to see 707 doubles on the network now off peak - other than the Shepperton branch, almost all 707 services to Weybridge and Hounslow are five carriages. 458s are deputising where possible on Hounslow services which has resulted in 450s going to Weybridge and 455s going to Windsor.
The 707 transfer thread reckons four have already gone to SE though...Only 2 707 are stood down; of the 30 units, 26 are available for traffic and often 25 are in use; no more 707 stand dwon until March [by the plan AIUI].
They have. 707003-006 have transferred. The 707 transfer thread reckons four have already gone to SE though...
