Tame Bridge Parkway has now received WMR signs. The platform station signs also have an orange box saying "Direct trains to Birmingham International" for some reason even on the Walsall bound platform.

Thanks very much for that find! Must be with reference to the new London Euston - Birmingham New Street - Rugeley TV services, which do indeed offer direct connections from Tame Bridge to Walsall.

Does anyone know why the Class 172 units have been given the much smarter purple livery whilst the almost identical Class 170s have the comparatively boring yellow and silver job?
Something to do with the 170s moving on soon?

Exactly why. The livery on the 170s and 323s is only meant as a temporary "medium term" rebrand. The 150s and 153s received only the logos as a "short term" rebrand; they're moving on (if not already) as well.

So why are they going to the effort to refurbish the 323 interiors into the WMR style? Will this also happen with the 170s?

323’s require refurbishment & new toilets to bring them up to the PRM requirement. 170’s are already PRM compliant.

Keeping tabs on the Snow Hill Lines, both Langley Green and Colwall now have WMR signs & signage.
Both signs also have additional transfers beneath the WMR logo (on an orange tab) - does anyone know what they might say?

Caught 172 221 today and it's nowhere near as thorough as the 172/0s. Counted around 6 green seats in my carriage (although it was crowded so maybe there are more) and I'm not sure why the maps haven't been updated seeing as they have been on all the 172/0s.
172214: refurbished with new interior, WiFi & plugs
172221: refurbished with new interior, WiFi & plugs

There is also no WiFi on either of these trains.

WMR/LNWR seem to have given up seat covers on the 350/1s? There was a surge of replacements but it seems to have stopped leaving a hodge podge of new and worn seats.
Now the 350/2 seats are beginning to fall to bits but they don't seem to care about that.
The carpets on all the 350/1 and /2 smell like damp dog and need to go but nothing has ever been done.
Gotta wonder what work they are doing. AC packs are failed on many carriages. Lots of doors taped out of order recently, and even a couple of sets running round with broken windows taped up.

3 350/1 units are currently away for refurbishment/corrosion repair/livery application

350/115 has had LNWR interior complete and corrosion repairs and is currently at northampton for livery application

350/106 is in LNWR livery and is currently at Bletchley along with 350/123 for interior refurbishment however 123 is yet to receive new livery

All 3 units have had corrosion repairs

Doesnt surprise me about running out of seat covers considering they would be getting the new ones in now as refurbishment has started

Any pics of 106?

What is the reason behind some smaller stations such as Cosford and Bilbrook stations being in the GWR brown and cream colour? Is the plan that these will be repainted in the new WMR colours?

Not too sure to be honest; many of the stations on the Snow Hill Lines (e.g. Danzey) were in LM green/black, but got the GWR brown & cream in the last year or so. Must be a nod towards the heritage of the lines on some of the more "aesthetically pleasing" stations that once lay on the GWR's network in the Midlands - everything through Snow Hill, Wolverhampton to Shrewsbury etc.
Stations on that route which have been more modernised (e.g. Langley Green, Acocks Green etc) or constructed since Nationalisation in 1948 (e.g. Telford Central) have got the orange/grey treatment.

Additionally - the following stations remain as enigmas on the list of repainted metalwork (such as lampposts).
  • Alvechurch
  • Four Oaks
  • Blake Street
  • All stations on the St. Albans Abbey Line
Could anyone here who knows and uses the routes better than I do keep an eye out for any changes? Thanks in advance.

Spotted at stafford

Interior has been refurbished although no new inside stickers as of yet however their is new PIS screens and new seat covers and dark green grab poles

Condition of first class refurbishment unknown

However 350/115 has LNR undercoat livery instead of full livery

Lidlington & Ridgmont (on the Marston Vale line) now both have new signage & LNWR "Marston Vale" station signs, and repainted lampposts.
Further north, Marston Green now has partial WMR signage (though platform number signs are still LM, and the station name signs are still Network WM).
