The first 3 car WMR 170 has been disbanded at Tyseley. 170635's centre car is on a low loader, awaiting forward movement to ??.

Unit has been renumbered 170535 as a consequence.

Interesting that they are going already despite the replacement stock not being in service.

Will the 350/4 and /3 start to be refurbished as nearly all /1 units are complete?

350/4's yes. Some 350/3's are semi refurbed. They're only having new PIS screens and a luggage rack. Seats not changed on sets already done.

Ok, so will the 350/3 receive the LNR interior when all the /4 are complete then?
It will be nice for all units to share the same common interior for once. :D

The 350/3's are receiving minimal work. New PIS, a luggage rack and new charge points. They are retaining green seats at present. The 350/4's will receive full refurb as per 350401.

I guess they won't do the grab poles or order new seat frames for the /4.

Just whizzed through Milton Keynes which now has new signage, pretty sure it wasn't there on Saturday when I went up north.

On the standalone illuminated signage south of the canopies? AFAIK they were the only bits left to do.
Yes that's what I noticed, could have just vinyled over it as it's white now. Just really stood out.
LNWR station colours and signage look really smart, has grown on me

I still think the 350 livery looks like a packet of Trebor mints (too many vertical elements), but the colour scheme is certainly pleasant and professional.

The 350/4's will get new seat coverings etc in line with 350/1 refurb. It's only the 350/3's not getting new seat covering/floot carpets.

I was passing Tyseley yesterday and saw the 196 in the flesh for the first time, is this to receive vinyls over the orange bits or are WMR changing their livery for their new units as it stood out quite notably from the in-service WMR units?

Is there a plan to revisit these and do carpets / seats later or are they just deemed to be in good enough condition to not bother ?

The in-service units are in an interim livery, the 196 livery (horrid though I think it is) is the permanent one.

I can’t help but think aesthetically at least that the golden shade of orange used on the 172s interim units would be better than the orange that appears to be used on the 196s.

I don't think this has been reported on here but 172342 is the first 3 car I've seen that has had an internal refurb / plugs fitted / new internal displays
I’m on 172332 at the moment which has also been refurbished to the standard of the 172/2’s. it also has the new interior PIS as per the 172/0’s

172331 currently at Ilford for refurb treatment.

323241 came back from refurb on Saturday 29/08, accompanied by 323212. 323217 went in the opposite direction with 323212 prior to returning with 241.

That completed the WMR 323 refurb.
