Hi

Does anyone have any splitting tips on getting the cost of a Wolverhampton-Chester Off Peak Return down from the cheapest ticket £26.80 via Shrewsbury?

Tickets must be walk-up, any route considered.

Thanks in advance.

Chester to Rugeley Trent Valley: Off-Peak Return £19.50

Valid via Crewe and Birmingham New Street. No problems stopping short at Wolverhampton as it is a Virgin-priced ticket, carrying restriction 2T: valid after 0415.

Edit: just realised the journey is in the other direction, but the same applies.

Thanks,

No need for anyone else to answer, as I won't be making the journey this weekend now.

Sorry to hijack the thread... Is it valid via Birmingham? I've tried that on that trainscanbecheaper site and its coming back not permitted?

If it *is* valid via Birmingham, is a Manchester - Rugeley Trent Valley ticket valid via Birmingham?

East Coast suggests both tickets are valid via Birmingham.
