Pretty certain its a plate layer.

Performing basic track maintenance like greasing switch rails, tightening fish plates on the track joints etc.

I would imagine that you are based at a track maintenance depot and have to travel out in gangs to perform maintenance.

If you like working outside in all types of weather then I'm sure you'll love it.

What exactly does this job entail, any body any experience , it's with NR

Its CAPEX pal. Projects usually entailing renewals and major infrastructure projects. You may cover a wide geographic area and the work will be interesting. The "platelayer" as someone mentioned would be advertised as a "infrastructure maintainer" and these duties would involve general patrolling and minor maintenance. Good luck anyway!
