Here's one for all those who get annoyed by poor picture library research:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-south-scotland-32843083

An unfortunate mistake - one would think someone would have noticed.

Dumfries and Galloway Council has apologised over using an image of the wrong accident on website details of events to mark the Quintinshill crash.

The local authority posted a picture of the Harrow and Wealdstone disaster which happened 37 years later.

Events are taking place in Gretna to mark the 100th anniversary of the Quintinshill crash on 22 May 1915.

The council apologised for the "oversight" and said the picture had now been changed.

The error was pointed out to the BBC Scotland news website via its south of Scotland Twitter feed.

We also have an enormous front page picture of two RAF aircraft in the Daily Telegraph this morning, a modern Typhoon and a Hurricane, the DT have come up with a Typhoon and a Spitfire

The Spitfire and Hurricane must be two of the most photographed aircraft ever to be produced and the editorial staff of a national newspaper still can't differentiate between them

Sounds like someone has gone for a quick Google search to find a suitable picture and failed to check any details ;): Type “Quintinshill 1915” into Google image search and you do indeed get a couple of pictures of the Harrow & Wealdstone crash cropping up, quite near the top.
