On July 12 I walked most of the Wye Valley Railway / Why Valley Greenway from its start at the Tintern Wireworks Branch bridge over the River Wye to the Southern Portal of Tidenham Tunnel. Unfortunately a lack of time time prevented me completing the last mile or so to the junction with the mainline.

It was a very enjoyable walk and passing through Tidenham Tunnel is something no railway enthusiast should miss. If you wish to do the walk through the tunnel please note that it is closed at night and to protected the resident bats between October and March.
