So Manchester - Newquay is going to be an HST after all? (appreciate high season tag)

Yes - they're shelling out for two HST sets; 1 from EMT, 1 from EC. The draft timetable didn't have them. Originally they weren't going to, but then someone pointed out they wouldn't have enough stock as they're planning to double up as many Voyageurs as possible.

This will only be the last two saturdays in July and saturdays in August though.

I have bowled a few times with xc hsts into glasgow central. The only time was in 2008 on 0900 but that only exists on sundays now rather than weekdays as before.

Are you sure both 1V45/1M70 and 1V47/1M93 are East Coast sets, I thought one of them was going to be an East Midlands one?

Although it's not listed with seasonal dates, so far this week 1V54 has been a Voayger with no HST on any of the days.

Great info, may I ask, how up to date is this?

I received an e-mail from XC themselves on monday saying that the 1V45 is a Voyager but timed as an HST.

Yesterday i went for the XC HST's gen as follows

43285 north end and 43321 south end:

43301 north end and 43207 south end:
1V50 0608 Edinburgh-Plymouth/ 1E61 1523 Plymouth-Leeds

Since the timetable change on Sunday, the weekday 1V54 has Power Type listed as High Speed Train and not Diesel Mechanical Multiple Unit which it did have before. This is from Genius moblie - yes I have access to Genius, no I'm not going to risk my job by giving out login/password (I've been asked many times, sorry if this seems petulant)

Previous years have seen the Newquay to Man Picc HST go via Crewe, doubt that's changed for this year.

There isn't going to be a Newquay to Manchester HST this year.
However I believe the service will run via Wilmslow until the 11th July.
